MSW performs on a stage under a tall pavilion in a park. The photograph is taken from the audience perspective, about 45 degrees right from center, looking at the stage. The stage fills the lower quarter of the frame, with a couple audience members in the foreground. A view of the ceiling of the pavilion fills the top half of the frame. The ceiling is paneled in warm strips of wood supported by metal arches curving over the stage. Behind the pavilion lush green trees and a hazy summer sky create a beautiful backdrop.
Viewed from the stage behind rows of flute players, our associate conductor, Paul Kile, addresses the audience with a microphone. He is centered in the frame, and is seen in profile looking towards the audience which is seated off the left side of the frame. In the background is a grassy lawn with green trees, and a hazy yellow sunset just beginning.
Looking between music stands the viewer sees a bearded male musician playing the baritone saxophone in an outdoor setting. He is wearing concert black attire and only the mouthpiece and very top of his instrument are visible. Other musicians playing trombones sit around him.
Viewed from the back-lefthand side of the stage, members of MSW perform outdoors under a covered pavilion. Centered in the frame is a lovely woman (both inside and out) playing the bass clarinet. In the background is a grassy lawn with green trees. The light has a special soft quality as a hazy yellow sunset is just beginning.
A male musician plays the tuba. The viewer is close behind the musician looking over his left shoulder. The tubist is seated along the right side of the frame, with his tuba in his lap towards the left. His left hand rests on top of the instrument. His face is reflected in the shiny brass bell.
